“Railway operation simulation game” lets us simulate a railway operation based on planning developed according to the railway information provided in this challenge. Through this simulation, you can understand more about the complex railway network in the Tokyo metropolitan area and rediscover its appeal.
In the simulation, you can make trains stop at different stations than they actually do, increase the number of trains, and set the type of cars to be double-deckers. The simulation predicts passenger travel time, waiting time at stations, congestion on the trains, etc., and presents evaluation on how much improvement is achieved by the user’s operation plan. You can play exploring the most suitable conditions, or set service conditions that have bothered you all the time and check the outcome.
You will notice that there are many trade-offs in railway operation. For example, if you try to reduce congestion, travel time will be longer. If you try to increase the comfort of trains, delays are more likely to occur.
TrainNavi V2 provides the information on the transfer stations and connecting trains. The train you are riding is shown in the train position display screen of the app. A list of upcoming stations and estimated arrival times of the current train is displayed by tapping the icon of your train. Tapping on a transfer station from the list brings up the list of connecting trains and the estimated arrival time of each train at the stations further ahead. You can use the system as if you were actually changing trains. The sophisticated UI allows you to view station timetables and train locations in a few simple steps.
In addition, we think that it is necessary to visually understand how train delays occur and recover, as well as the impact of delays on other lines, so we are researching methods to visualize delay performance from the logs of the past train delays. As a visualization method, we have implemented an application that shows hourly delay results in color on the train position display screen, and a display that shows hourly delay results of multiple lines in color on a map and animates them in chronological order.
"Timely" is a web application that "instantly" displays the time of the bus that will soon arrive at a nearby bus stop.
o you sometimes miss the bus because it arrives just before you get to the bus stop?
“If I'd gotten there a little earlier, I could've gotten on the bus.”
This application solves such problems.
